⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We come here every year around this time and it is always a visit we look forward to. This year we were pleasantly surprised that the queue moved much faster than usual: there were only two families ahead of us and we were seated very quickly.

The restaurant was very clean and beautifully looked after. With the warm weather, having the large window open with those beautiful views over the water made the whole experience even more special.

As always, I ordered my favourite dish: the sole. It was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, and served with that famous vinaigrette dressing on the salad that I am completely in love with. After around eight years of coming here and several attempts to find out the recipe, the only thing I have managed to discover is that it contains mustard… but it is still a mystery 😄. It is definitely my favourite salad.

The service was excellent, everyone was very attentive and friendly. The only small suggestion I would make is regarding the amount of chips. It feels a little wasteful seeing so much food left over: even with the children’s menu, my kids didn’t eat even a quarter of the chips that came with their meals. Perhaps it could be an option to choose a smaller portion of chips or even a double portion of that delicious salad instead (which I think will be my request next year 😄).

Thank you for continuing to take such great care with all the little details. After so many years, we still enjoy every visit and we will definitely keep coming back.

Response from the owner

What a wonderful message to receive — thank you for eight years of visits, and for such a detailed and heartfelt review! We're delighted the sole and that famous vinaigrette hit the spot again (the mystery stays safe with us 😄). Really appreciate the suggestion on chip portions too, we'll pass it on so it can be looked at properly. Thank you for continuing to make us part of your yearly tradition — hope to see you back at Dinos again soon.

I had previously tried Dinos takeaway in Kinsale and it was very good, which is why I bring my friend to visit the restaurant for lunch today. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Despite many tables for 4 being vacant and it not being a busy time, we were told we couldn't sit by the window because we were only two. That specific table remained empty the entire time we were there, while other groups of 1 or 2 people were seated at tables for 4. Our food took so long that we decided to stop at the starters. To our surprise, the server refused to split the bill, even though the menu clearly states this is only restricted for groups of 4.

Response from the owner
